Practical tests
The Practical Driving Test will last for up to 45 minutes and will include a range of typical road and traffic conditions – possibly using rural and urban roads; and dual carriageways. The Examiner will be looking for a good driver, based on safety not necessarily experience. He will allow the candidate up to 15 minor faults before failing.
Minor Faults - are those which do not involve dangerous or potentially dangerous situations.
Serious Faults - are those which involve a potential danger, ie: situations in which the candidate's actions involved an unacceptable risk, either to himself or others.
Dangerous Faults - are those which involve actual danger, ie: where others are forced to act as a consequence, where persons are exposed to unacceptable risk, etc.
However, if one serious or dangerous fault is made - a failure will be the result.
The fee for the Practical Driving Test is currently £62.00
